CERAMIC JELLYFISH
Fifteen years after I created the room-sized installation of ceramic jellyfish as part of coe&waito for the fourth annual “Come Up To My Room” group exhibition in Toronto, I was delighted to accept a special commission to revisit the forms for a beautiful new private residence. It gave me the opportunity to apply all I’ve learned through the projects I’ve worked on since then.
These new sculptures allowed me to refine so many details and add levels of complexity which made this project both an exciting challenge and deeply satisfying.
With this grouping of three jellyfish I’ve attempted to capture the ethereal nature, fluid forms and intricate details of these captivating sea creatures.
Hand made in porcelaneous stoneware.
